MfScan is very easy to be handled and simply structured. Many additional
options, that can be found in other scanning programs, were extensively
forbore, because most microfilm scanners of today are able to accomplish
processes, that were just doable by a complex software (deskewing,
cropping etc.) years ago, simply because of the hardware.
Image rotations, for example, can be handled very easy by the microfilm
scanner, because nearly all microfilm scanners provide a rotation
prism. While cutting the appropriate paper format the size of the
pixels of the microfilm image is directly transferred to the Twain
interface. By doing so the microfilm scanner adjusts the paper format
individually. On the one hand this process saves time and on the other
hand it´s safer than cutting the documents by a software.
The practice has shown, that further image processes can be better
implemented by swapped out software tools. It´s also time-saving.
